The Dams Safety Act 2015 and the Dams Safety Regulation 2019 commenced on 1 November 2019.
The Regulation sets out the operational details for the Act, and safety standards that declared dam owners must comply with.
Review of the Dams Safety Act 2015
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water conducted a statutory review of the Dams Safety Act 2015.
This review aimed to ensure the policy objectives of the Act were still valid tohelp to ensure the Act continues to effectively regulate dam safety.
