For the July to September 2025 quarter, Dams Safety NSW compliance and enforcement activities have focused on:

• Annual Dam Safety Standards Reports
• New works and decommissioning
• Operations and Maintenance Plans
• Risk Reports
• Non-compliance follow-ups
• Mining and planning matters

During this quarter period, we completed the following:

Annual Dam Safety Standards Report audits

• 10 audits completed and 8 non-compliances were identified across the 10 audits.
• The most common non-compliances related to annual update of emergency plans

New works and decommissioning dams

• 4 new works audits scheduled for the year, with two completed and one report issued.
• No non-compliances were detected

Risk Reports

• Audited 25 Risk Reports to assess their compliance with the approved methodology and requirements.

Non-compliance follow-ups

• Wrote to 16 dam owners to resolve outstanding non-compliances from previous audits which resulted in the closure of 25 non-compliances.
• There were 9 major non-compliances, and majority of them were related to records and Dam Safety Management System establishment/implementation.

Mining and planning matters

• Issued 2 planning submissions
• Issued 2 mining consent applications
• Processed 1 mining lease applications and amendments.
