This emergency plan checklist is available to support dam owners to comply with the Dams Safety Regulation 2019 and the Dams Safety Act 2015. All declared dams in NSW must have an emergency plan. The Act and Regulation set out the requirements for these plans, including what they must contain, how often they must be updated and the requirement to share them with Dams Safety NSW.

The emergency plan checklist is a simple self-assessment tool that dam owners and their consultants can download and complete. There is no requirement to submit the completed checklist to Dams Safety NSW.
