Inundation modelling for the program area

In July 2022, the NSW Government released improved inundation modelling for the program area, presented as a package of interactive inundation maps.

These interactive maps show the flow limit options and predicted inundation for the Murrumbidgee and Murray Rivers.

They have been developed using comprehensive hydraulic modelling, which was cross referenced against satellite imagery and/or aerial photography collected during similar recent natural high flow events.

The inundation modelling is being further updated in 2025, with some reaches already complete. Adjustments to the model take into consideration landholder feedback obtained by the during property specific engagement.
